Documentation (see photos) from a 1995 Mattel information hotline newsletter states "The Ferrari 5 Pack (#12405) was produced for a very limited time with a plastic body Ferrari 308 until a diecast body could be used for the Ferrari 308. So, for those of you who are lucky enough to find the plastic body Ferrari 308 it is a collector's find indeed! Less tan 10,000 plastic body Ferrari 308's were produced before this change was made!"
